Looks like I'll be the dissenting opinion, I like the one with the pink background. It actually softens the page for me, my eyes love the photo surrounded by the warm feel of that paper. And it in no way draws me away from the photo. But both are gorgous, and both would be fabulous printed I'm sure
I love the idea about letting the pink pop out just a bit.

I prefer the first one and think it is softer and allows the focus on the photograph. But the second one might be something that adds to the personality of the girl in the photo...It's difficult to make a judgement when you don't know the person. Although a little "busier" perhaps the border in the second one says something tht's left out in the first one. I think there is difference between what might be considered "art" and what might be your personal preference

I like the second one. Personal style bias - I'm a huge damask fan! I do think it competes with the photo more than in the first version, but I still like the pink/brown pretty paper background!

I didn't vote the first time I saw this because I couldn't decide.
This time I zoomed way out on my screen to look at the layouts. I feel that the first layout needs a little bit more color. I think I like the second one better but I like Sandy's idea of peeking the paper out from the background. when you tried that, how did it look to you? where are you printing this book? Tina |
